THE KITE – 2020 Cabrinha Switchblade

The 2020 Cabrinha Switchblade Kite is a high performance 5 strut hybrid all-round kite with Fusion wingtips and a draft forward profile. World-renowned for its user-friendly predictability and high performance boosting and hangtime, the Switchblade is a favorite of beginners and experts alike and has a host of competition wins and world records. Highly efficient and versatile, the Switchblade performs in the widest range of conditions and excels in all disciplines. Unchanged from 2019 in its design, the 2020 Switchblade does bring some exciting changes to its material construction. The new Nano Ripstop canopy and the exclusive Plasma treatment bring greater strength, longevity, and performance to the Drifter. The Nano Ripstop material is a 55g/m2 with 3mm double ripstop pattern that achieves a 2x increase to the tear strength while the Plasma treatment gives the material a hydrophilic surface creating superior adhesion of the protective coating. The result is a stronger longer lasting kite that maintains its optimal performance. Also new for 2020 is a new optimized Dacron layout which results in reduced weight and improved performance.

A mid high rocker line remains in the board with an updated streamlined outline allowing smooth catch-free transitions. The continued use of vector net carbon weave glass lamination on the bottom eliminates excess weight yet keeps a stiffer flex profile eliminating negative flex on hard landings.
